The recent shut down of govt. funds has yet again proved to be more of hasty situations. There are now more unemployed citizens which is a cause for concern now. Well I hope the shutdown does not happen again.

I am NOT 100% sure but I think

the adult population = employed + unemployed + others

The labour force = employed + unemployed

Labour force participation rate = (employed + unemployed) / The adult population

the unemployment rate = unemployed / (employed + unemployed)
