I have been trying to figure out the answer to this question and I have tried many different ways, but according to the answer sheet I keep getting it wrong.

How would you rearrange this equation to make x the subject?

p=3(y+2x)2

I think you mean 'solve for x' ??

p = 3 ( y+2x)^2

p/3  (y+2x)2

sqrt ( p/3)  - y = 2x

x =   (  sqrt (p/3) -y) / 2
