Penske   cost  = 49.95  + .59 x        x = miles

U-Haul    cost = 39.95   + .99 x        x = miles

 

b  set the above equations = to each other and solve for x

        if you drive x miles the two trucks are same price

        less than x miles means U-Haul is cheaper

        more than x miles Penske costs less

 

steeper graph will have the bigger 'x' coefficient  : Uhaul @ 99
