A city is planning a circular fountain. The depth of the fountain will be 3 ft and the volume will be LaTeX: 1800ft^3. 1800 f t 3 . Find the radius of the fountain using the equation LaTeX: V=\pi r^2h, V = π r 2 h , where V is the volume and, r is the radius, and h is the depth. Round to the nearest whole number.

1800 =  pi * r^2 *  3     divide both sides by 3

600 = pi * r^2     divide both sides by pi

600/pi = r^2        take the positive root

√ [600/pi ] = r ≈  14 ft = the radius
