There are  10  players on the team now.

40%  of  10  =  4 ,   so  4  of the players are experienced now.

original ratio of experienced to total players   =

number of experienced players now / number of total players now  =

4 / 10

final ratio of experienced to total players  =

number of experienced players after x are added / number of total players after x are added  =

(4 + x) / (10 + x)

Number of total players after  x  are added  =  10 + x
