L = length

W = width = L-0.7

 

perimeter =  2L  + 2W  

                = 2L + 2 (L-0.7)  = 44.6     solve for L         then W = L-0.7   meters

 

 

 

Second one   :     Very Similar       2[ L   +    (L-4)] = 52     solve for L     then W = L-4  meters
