I wil tell you...but if THAT is all they are paying in taxes, they are NOT paying their 'Fair Share'

35301 x .0806 = 2845.26        They SHOULD be paying at LEAST double that !!!

You r right jc, in my opinion, the definition of fair, is each person paying for only what is absoulutely essential. Only eneugh to support the economy. And not have a million extra things to pay for:)

Yes, but then would welfare recipients still have a tax? And what if that percentage goes to things the person deems unjust, like planned parenthood, if this country truly has freedom of religion, should some people really have to support things against their religion?

Sure....Not EVERYbody should pay the tax....but currently 50% pay NO tax and they still get to VOTE.....who will they vote for? People who will allow them to continue to pay NOTHING as our country goes further in to debt.     We need a NET to help people who TRULY cannot help themselves...but we have way too many on the 'dole' who CAN work but have been taught that it is more profitable to NOT be productive.......in the meantime we penalize those that ARE productive....you are either a MAKER or a TAKER

Absoulutely, though, I must confess, I did not know taxes ran on percentage. What is the average percentage of tax(if that even make sense)? And do that mean that some people don't pay much taxes, while others may have to pay lots? And, you have a very good point. I would love to see u on Rush Limbaugh :)

The United States currently has a PROGRESSIVE tax rate....the more you MAKE the HIGHER your tax rate...

example (simplified)     if you make 20 dollars your tax is 5 dollar

if you make 40 dollars your tax is....?  10 dollars?  no....it is 14 dollars

if you make 60 dolars your tax is...?     15 dollars? no...it is  25 dollars

PROGRESSIVE.....the MORE you EARN the HIGHER the PERCENTAGE you pay

That makes sense, but would a person who makes twent dollars really have to pay tax, or was that just ur example?

Just my example.......   the current tax code exempts people from paying taxes when their income is below  a certain level to not tax the poor.       BUT when people say the 'rich' are not payong their 'fair share' it is a total lie......they are the only ones paying taxes !     TRUE...our crazy tax laws allow SOME of the WEALTHY to pay low taxes due to deductions etc....but still...MOST of the tax income to the fed gov is paid by the top 5% of people......

That's crazy! I've always wondered, do government employees pay taxes? Cos aren't the taxes supporting them, and paying them?

Yes they pay taxes.   Most of them are in unions and get paid too much for what they do and there is no incentive to do better because they are only paid (generally) by how LONG they hve been there.   Counting their LUCRATIVE benefits, they are gemerally paid much more than their equivalents in the free markets....henc government continues to grow and get more inefficient (no competition)

"genius"    I belive, is defined by IQ.     True KNOWLEDGE is defined by education.     IQ is an inherent genetic trait.    I know you are 12...(13?).... I think your IQ is probably very high from our online 'chats' ..... your high IQ will make it EASIER to gain KNOWLEDGE which will make things easier to understand......     Got it?

AVERAGE IQ is 100     1/2 people are above and 1/2 people are below this benchmark....YOU are above.....as, probably your parents are too....... 'Just sayin'"

Yup....me too.     There are valid IQ tests online you can take....they take a few hours, but I wouldn't worry too much about that....mostly you should be concerned about your grades vs others in your class....just try to be the best...you may or may not succeed (I fail often....just ask CPhill ! ha)...BUT I'm learning and getting BETTER!  I'm gunning for CPhill! ha
