Many employers pay a higher hourly wage for overtime work. Suppose an employee normally earns $6.30 per hour and works 40 hours per week. One week, the employee worked 48 hours and got overtime pay for the 8 extra hours, at 1.5 times the usual rate. How much will the employee earn for each hour of overtime?

$ 6.30  * 1.5  =   $9.45  for each hour of overtime
