Thanks for answering Singfur. I really want people to get involved. Unfortunately you made a little mistake.
You have to multiply before you add and there is an invisible muliply sign between the 2 and the bracket.

2+2*(3+4)
=2+2*7
=2+14
=16


Bobby, when people type maths on the computer they will often use a * instead of a x sign.
This is because when you learn algebra you often use the letter x. And we don't want to confuse an x with a multiply sign.
