A diver at the top of a 10-meter high platform, preparing to perform a dive. The diver's height above the water, in meters, at t seconds can be modelled by the equation: H(t)=10+2t-4.9t^2

1)Determine the height of the diver one second after diving

2) Determine the average rate of change in the diver's height in her first second of diving

3) Approximate the instantaneous rate of change in the diver's height one second after diving.

1)  10 + 2(1) - 4.9(1)^2   =  7.1 m

2)  Avg rate of change  =   [ 10  - 7.1  ]  [ 0 -1] =   2,9 / -1  =  -2.9 m/s

3)  Instantaneous rate of  change  at  one  second =  2 - 9.8 (1)  = -7.8 m/s
