3) The quadratic is 3x^2 + x + 5, so a + b + c = 9.

 

4) Completing the square in x and y, we get 2(x - 6)^2 + 2(y + 2)^2 = 100, so the radius of the circle is 10.  Then the side length of the square is 20, and its area is 400.
