After Joe spent some of his 50-cent coins worth $72.50 and 5/7 of the number of 20-cent coins, the number of coins left was 2/7 of the total number of coins at first. The other person's answer is incorrect

Joe spent 50 worth = $72.50

Number of 50 cent coins spent = 72.50/0.50 = 145
Number of 20 cent coins he spent = 5/7 * 7/8x = 5/8x

(7/8x - 5/8x) + (1/8x - 145) = 2/7x

x = 1624

Number of 20 cent coins left = (7/8x - 5/8x) = 2/8x = 406

Number of 59 cent coins left = (1/8x - 145) = (1/8 * 1624 - 145) = 58

Amount Joe had left = 406 * 0.20 + 58 * 0.50 = $110.20

This is the correct answer
