KillerSteve is correct!!!!.....here's a slightly easier method...

 

 

(1/3)log x  =  log 8       and we can write

 

log x ^(1/3)   log 8

 

Which implies that

 

x^(1/3)  = 8     cube both sides

 

x  = 512
