Well Extr4,
The cereal and the box put together must weigh between the two values given. The box weighs a set amount, so the cereal must weigh between two amounts.
Can't you work it out?
-----------------------------------------------------
Maybe just think about the lightest possibility first and then think about the heaviest possibility
----------------------------------------------------
Whenever the numbers in a problem make it mind boggling, you can try replacing those numbers with easy ones and see what you would do, then you can copy the technique onto the hard problems.
So maybe with this one you can think about a big packaged toy. Altogether it weighs 20kg, If the packaging weighs 1kg, how much does the toy weigh?
--------------------------------------------------------
Have a think and see if you can work it out for yourself
