x over 24 = 3 4ths. Whats X?

[x / 24] =3 /4

To get that answer,

 

x/24 = 3/4

Cross multiply 

 

x(4) and 3(24)

 

You get

4x=72

 

Divide both sides by 4 to isolate x.

 

x= 18.

Multiply each side by 24 to cancel the 24 on the left and add it to the right

We multiply both sides because we ewould be changing the equation if we didn't

(3/4)*24 = 18
