WOW!Aziz thats so totally different from my school!

All standards have 9 periods which can become 10 including the zero period!in my school on Wednesday the zero period is of an hour!

you im so surprised to see the education system , its all different from my school! We have no snack time but after the 5th period (not including the zero one) , we have out luch break , which i never counted was for how long but was enough to finish our luch and......the left time , the children play and most of them get a scolding becoz of playing and running in the classes and making the class no better than junk yard full of broken lying desks and chairs!lol!(but they dont break the things just scatter them about while running)

And after luch we have the left periods!we have our school of 6 hours!like going in am and returning in pm!lol!just a thought! The school is closed at 2pm and in the morning......i dont know exactly when it starts!

but if theres a substitution before or after the break then its a lot fun until the teacher is too serious about her duty becoz if theres a substitution then we all have nice chats and when the teacher says to read we just have our book open and then chat when the teacher is not looking!and those who have pending work they do their work and some read newspaper and u kow actually u can do anything u want until the teacher asks u to open the book and read it or disscusses about that subject!and if any teacher does this , u know what sounds are to be made by the students ..........................awwwwwe or ohhhh nooo!lol!

yeah ! im in middle schhol!

but as u know the education system is different in in different countries so looking at this , i get to know that the period u all call homeroom , we call it a zero period!which is actually the first period when we go to schhol as its held the first but its named as zero period becoz in that children do different things!

like before it wasnt compulsory for the teacher to disscuss quizes , talk about the topics in the newspaper that the children have recieved in the class or do any helpful activity!before we sould do anything , finish homework , read a book or some people just pretended to syudy but actually they talked sofly , u know i and my friend we too did the same but sometimes we used to pass chits!lol!

but now it has been compulsary for the teacher to disscuss something useful like quiz, about the newspaper and different things!and on Thursday we have Leadership classes in which they tell us how to become a good leader , who are good leaders and all that a person needs to know to become a leader.i really find these classes boring , becoz i feel they r of no use but i think they may come use when im in senior school!

okay now for your place!

i think u people do the same things (not the friday one)

i think u should have a look here!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeroom#United_States

i think this may help u!only a few things are different between our places!

In the U.S., we have periods to divide each school day. For example, in my middle school, most students had only Period 1 - 6...however, some have a period 0 which just means before "official" school starts. Same goes for high school...but you could also have period - 7 for a lengthy day of school!

Each period can be considered as a "class" or "activity." After periods 1 & 2, we would have snack for 10 mins. Then, we would have periods 3 & 4...after that, lunch for 30 mins...and then periods 5 & 6...

Now, for homerooms, they are named as they are because they serve as a place to store your stuff or do leisurely activites...we had SSR (sustained silent reading) and usually left our stuff in our homerooms before we went to lunch. So, you can see the connection to a real home and why the "home" part appropriately fits. Also, homerooms serve as your "main" classroom. So, suppose your homeroom was period 4, chemistry class. Then, if there were a contest to see which "homeroom" could collect the most donations or raise money for fundraisers, then each homeroom would be competing against all other homerooms.
