A sum of money is divided among Alice, Bob and Carl. If the ratio is 13:12:7, how much does Bob get if the amount that Alice gets is $360 more than Carl? And what is the total amount of money that was divided? Thanks for help.

Let the total amount of money divided among the 3 persons==M

13 + 12 + 7 ==32 sum of all ratios

13 - 7 ==6 - difference in the ratios of Alice and Carl

6/32M == 360, solve for M

M ==$1,920 - total amount to be divided among the 3 persons.

1,920 / 32 ==$60 - share of each person

60  x  13 ==$780 - share of Alice

60  x  12 ==$720 - share of Bob

60  x   7 ==$420  - share of Carl

Check: $780  -  $420 ==$360 Alice's share > than Carl's share.
