Hi everyone, I'll let you know my resulat because Im sure I did it wrong and if someone could give me some of his/her time to help me / explain me the problm I would be grateful!
1. An account executive receives a base salary plus a commission. on $50,000 in montly sales, an account executive would recieve compensation of $3,300. On $70,000 in monthly sales, an account axecutive would receive compensation of $4,100.
Determine a linear function that predicts compensation of a sales executive ( which we call y ) When he has x in monthly sales.
I found : First -0,68 thanks to Y2-Y1 / X2-X1 and then 46700
Is that wrong ? Thankk you for you help ! so much !
We have the points (50,000, 3300) and (70,000, 4100)......the slope is given by :
[ 4100 - 3300 ] / [ 70,000 - 50,000] = 1/25 = .04
So using this slope and either of the two points we can write a linear equation.....
y - 3300 = .04 (x - 50000 ) simplfy
y - 3300 = .04x - 2000 add 3300 to both sides
y = .04x + 1300
