Most tournaments are 1on1. They use seeding system where 1v16, 2v15...

How about for tournaments that eliminate on power of 3?

For 27 players, what is the correct assignment of the players?

Thank you.

3 players compete result in 1 winner advancing to next round. The other two are eliminated.

27 -> 9 -> 3 -> 1

If we extend this to where the player who came second in each round was awarded double elimination. Then in the first stage we have 9 players going into the loser's bracket.

I have the following arrangement but I am unsure if it is correct.

The top image is dynamic seeding and bottom image is static seeding. The numbers are the seed numbers and the top seed is assumed to win.

I believe the correct assignment of players for a 27 player bracket would be player 1 gets a bye, then 2 & 27 play, 3 & 26, 4 & 25...etc.

I'm not sure what you mean for "How about tournaments that eliminate on power 3?" Could you explain that better?
