Mrs. Falbo bought 9 adult tickets and 5 children’s tickets for the recital. The total she paid was $67. Mrs. Ustinov bought 7 adult tickets and paid $38.50. How much does each type of ticket cost?
By look at how much Mrs. Ustinov paid (38.50) divide that by 7 since she bought 7 tickets, that will tell you how much an adult ticket is.
After finding out how much the adult ticket is times it by 9. Thats how much all 9 costs together for mrs. falbo. Take that number and subtract it from the total of 67 dollars. Thats the remaining balance. Divide the remaining balance to find out how much each childrens ticket is:
(38.50)/7 = 5.50 per adult ticket.
(5.50)x9=49.50
(67-49.50) =17.50
(17.50)/5= 3.50 per childrens ticket
Hope this helps!!! :) :)
