My daughter and I were born in the same month just a couple of days apart.

On her second birthday, I was 24 times her age.

In the year 2021 that age difference will shrink a lot; I'll be just 3 times older then her.

Can you determine my current age?

( I've made this one up using my and my daughter's real age; now you'll know how old civonamzuk is.)

@CPhill:/  Yes, you are correct! You would be even more correct if I wrote down the month of our birth.

@Anonymous:/  In my case, those years are gone with the wind...

Let y  be the years between the time you were 48 and the time when you will be three times as old as your daughter ... (2021).....so we have

48 + y  = 3(y + 2)

48 + y  = 3y + 6

42 = 2y

y= 21

So you will  be 69  in 2021.....so you're 6 years younger now  = 63

Check....

Your daughter will be 23 in 2021.....so she was born in 1998

When she was 2   (in 2000), you were 15 years younger than you are now....so 63 - 15 = 48....and this was 24 times her age in 2000....!!!!

Am I correct????
