Let y be the years between the time you were 48 and the time when you will be three times as old as your daughter ... (2021).....so we have
48 + y = 3(y + 2)
48 + y = 3y + 6
42 = 2y
y= 21
So you will be 69 in 2021.....so you're 6 years younger now = 63
Check....
Your daughter will be 23 in 2021.....so she was born in 1998
When she was 2 (in 2000), you were 15 years younger than you are now....so 63 - 15 = 48....and this was 24 times her age in 2000....!!!!
