An ice box has dimensions 12x24x16 inches. It is full of shaved ice for snow cones. Each paper cone cup has a radius of 1.5 inches and a height of 5 inches. Assuming the ice does not melt and that each cup is filled completely, about how many cups can be filled?
np so i took πr2h and then i did 12*24*16 and that gave me 4608 then divided by 35.34 and got 130.390 so your answer would be 130 then
The volume of the ice box is 12 * 24 * 16 = 4608 in^3 (1)
The volume of each cone is [ pi (1.5)^2 * 5 / 3 ] in^3 (2)
So.....the number of cups that can be filled is (1) / (2) =
4608
_______ = about 391 cups
[ pi (1.5)^2 * 5 / 3 ]
Thanks so much! This'll be very helpful later on~ (I had already submitted my answer >.<)
