The graph shows the distance y, in inches, a pendulum moves to the right (positive displacement) and to the left (negative displacement), for a given number of seconds x.

How many seconds are required for the pendulum to move from its resting position and return?

At  t = 0.5 seconds.....the pendulum is at its resting position

At  1 sec ...it is at its max displacement to the right

At  1.5 sec...it returns to its resting position

So ...  1.5 - 0. 5 =      1 second is required
