The perimeter of a regular hexagon is no less then 18 inches. What is s, the length of one side? ( hint: A regular polygon has equal side legnths)

s = 18/3 = 6 in.

Division means grouping things evenly. Therefore division is a good way to solve this question since a regular polygon has equal side lengths.

If the perimeter of a regular hexagon  is no less than  18 inches......the the minimum side length, s, can be found as :

6s ≥  18    divide both  sides by 6

s ≥  3 in
