one fourth divided by four

one fourth divided by four = 1/4 divide 4

reciprocate = 1/4 * 1/4 

= 1/16 is the answer

Perhaps this picture will help.  A quarter of the largest square has been divided into four.  What fraction of the whole do you think the black square is?
