Paperclips are sold in boxes. A small box has 50 paperclips and costs 40p. A large box has 120 paperclips and costs 90p. Which box is the better value for money? You must show your working.

I think it's small but just need someone to confirm.

Work out the cost per paperclip for each box by dividing the number in the box by the cost of the box.  The box with the smaller ratio is the one with the better value for money.

Or, do this for easy comparison:

1 - The small box: 40  pennies / 50 paperclips =0.8 of a penny per 1 paperclip.

2 - The large box: 90 pennies / 120 paperclips =0.75 of a penny per 1 paperclip.

Therefore, the large box (2) is a better deal than the small box.
