The graph of y = f(x) is a parabola whose vertex is at (1, -2). The graph of y = f(x +8) is also a parabola. Where is the vertex of the graph of y = f(x + 8)? Write your answer as an ordered pair.

Hello Guest!

\(f(x)=( x-1)^2-2\)

\(f(x+8)= ( (x+8)-1)^2-2\\ f(x+8)=(x+{\color{blue}7})^2{\color{blue}-2}\ (=x^2+14x+47)\)

The vertex of y = f(x +8) is (-7,-2).
