The percentage of sugar in a solution of sugar and water is 9%. If 4 litres of this solution is diluted by adding 500 mL of water, what is the percentage of sugar in the new solution?

4L = 4000ml  .....and 9% is sugar = 360ml

And 500ml added to this = 4500ml

So  360/4500 = 8% sugar in the new solution
