How do you find the perimeter of a clover (four circles...) with only the measurement of the diameter of a circle: 2cm

Here's a picture of the situation.......

Notice that, if we consider that each circle is tangent to two other circles at only two points, then the perimeter is formed by 6 half-circles (or alternatively, 3 full circles). And the perimeter of one circle is just pi x d  = pi x 2cm = about 6.28cm. And 3 times this  = 6.28 cm X 3 = about 18.84 cm

(Notice something else of interest.......the perimeter of the "4th" circle is "absorbed" into the interior of the diagram...!!!......thus the total perimeter of all 4 circles isn't "lost'...it's just been "split up")
