John buys a used car for $2,500 to commute to college. He has determined that he will pay $0.65 a mile for insurance, gas and maintenance per year for the costs of owning this car. Write a linear equation that represents the total cost of ownership for a year.

a) y = .65x + 2500

b) y = 0.65x + 2500/12

c) y = 6.5x + 2500

d) y = 65x + 2500

The car cost $2500 this is a set amount it will not change

Then

the car cost   $0.65 for every mile driven

If the car drives 10km in the year.

How much will the 65c costs be?

How much will the total cost be?

What will be the total cost?

If the car drives x km in the year.

How much will the 65c costs be?

How much will the total cost be?

What will be the total cost?
