Mrs Collins and Mrs Franklin were supposed to bake 280 cupcakes for a party altogether. In the end, Mrs Collins and Mrs Franklin  baked 328 cupcakes instead. If Mrs Collins baked 1/5 more cupcakes than what she should and Mrs Franklin baked 3/20 more cupcakes than she should, how many cupcakes were each of them supposed to bake at first?

Let C be the number that Mrs Collins was supposed to bake and

let F be the number that Mrs Franklin was supposed to bake.

F+C = 280   (1)

(1  +  1/5)C   +  (1 + 3/20)F = 328    (2)

now simplify and solve them simultaneously.
