A spinner has five sectors of equal size. The sectors are labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The spinner is spun twice. X is the number of times 3 is spun.

Drag each bar on the horizontal axis to the correct location to create a probability distribution for X.

So this is my answers but I know that they are not rght because they dont add up to 1. Plus I have been looking at similar problems such as https://web2.0calc.com/questions/a-spinner-has-five-sectors-of-equal-size-the-sectors but dont understand how CPhill got the fraction for spin 2 and 3.

Here's the list of possible outcomes from CPhill's answer:

1,1      2,1      3,1      4,1      5,1

1,2      2,2      3,2      4,2      5,2

1,3      2,3      3,3      4,3      5,3

1,4      2,4      3,4      4,4      5,4

1,5      2,5      3,5      4,5      5,5

num of outcomes where no 3 is spun  =  16      so      probability that num spins showing 3 is 0  =  16 / 25  =  0.64

num of outcomes where one 3 is spun  =  8      so      probability that num spins showing 3 is 1  =  8 / 25  =  0.32

num of outcomes where two 3's are spun  =  1      so      probability that num spins showing 3 is 2  =  1 / 25  =  0.04

I completely understand now! I made the mistake on the num of outcomes where two 3's are spun by thinking it was 9/25 (adding all the 3 outcomes together) than just 1/25.
