Please help! I am not good with these types of problems. I'm really confused!
1)
Let the height of the TV = H
16 / 9 = 50 / H cross multiply
16H =9 x 50
16H =450 divide both sides by 16
H = 28.1 inches - the height of the TV.
2) I'm not sure which "leg" you want, since a right triangle has 2 legs!! At any rate:
Cos(45) = Adjacent leg / Hypotenuse
1/sqrt(2) = Adjacent leg / 12 cross multiply
Adjacent leg = 12 / sqrt(2)
Sin(45) =Opposite leg / Hypotenuse
1/sqrt(2) = Opposite leg / 12 cross multiply
Opposite leg =12 / sqrt(2)
Note: You got 2 legs for the price of one!!! Notice that they exactly the same because this is an isoscelles right triangle.
6)
Sin(F) = 96 / 100 =0.96
Sin(G) = 28 / 100=0.28
7)
Student A is correct, because we know the angle and the opposite side to that angle:
Sin(35) = 12 / x
0.57358 = 12 / x cross multiply
0.57358x =12 divide both sides by 0.57358
x =12 / 0.57358
x =20.92
8)
Sin(31) = Height of the slide / 4.3
0.515 =Height / 4.3 cross multiply
Height =4.3 x 0.515
Height =2.21 m - the height of the slide.
