For field day, Mrs. White is preparing punch.  She wants to make 6 gallons of punch.  The

recipe she found is only for 3 quarts.  The recipe calls for 1 1/5 cups of pineapple juice, 1/2

cup of orange juice, and the rest lemon-lime soda.  In order to make 6 gallons of punch,

how much of each ingredient will Mrs. White need?

Conversion formula

           1 Gallon = 4 Quarts

                         = 16 Cups

 

   => 1 Quarts   = 4 Cups

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mrs. White has recipe for 3 quarts (12 cups)

       1 1/5 cups of pineapple juice

                        (6/5 cups)

          1/2 cup of orange juice

  

and Rest (12 - 6/5 - 1/2 = 103/10 cups)

       
        of lemon lime soda

 

  these are the recipes for 3 Quarts

(12 cups) of Punch

------------------------------------------------------------------------

We want the recipe for 6 gallons 

           of punch

     => 6 gallons = 6 * 16 = 96 cups

     but 96 = 12 * 8

           each recipe for 12 cups gets

     multiplied by 8

          required recipe for 6 gallons of

      punch is

          6/5 * 8 = 48/5 = 9 3/5 cups of pineapple juice

          1/2 * 8 = 4 cups of orange juice

f     13/10 * 8 = 412/5 = 82 2/5 cups of lemon-lime soda
