There is 4 inches of water in the swimming pool before the day started. The rainfall is falling at 3 inches per minute.

Write an inequality for how much water is in the pool, let x represent the minutes.

The number  of inches, I, of water in  the pool  x minutes after the rain starts to fall is given by :

I  =  4 + 3x

BTW......there is no "inequality" here......it's just a linear equation modeling the situation
