The price of Stock A at 9 A.M. was $12.25. Since then, the price has been increasing at the rate of $0.07 each hour. At noon the price of Stock B was $12.75. It begins to decrease at the rate of $0.15 each hour. If the two rates continue, in how many hours will the prices of the two stocks be the same?

Hi Guest!

A small side note, it really helps if you are more careful with the formatting, it makes reading a lot easier.

x = hour from noon (note that since stock a starts at 9, it's x + 3)

12.25 + .07(x+3) = 12.75 - .15x

.07x + .21 = .5 - .15x

.22x = .29

x = 29/22

Well... that's not a very nice number for an hour. -.-

So ig the answer is 1:19 ish.

Maybe you can find the error in this?

Sorry I couldn't help more.
