Let's say that the original number of visitors is 1000.

An 800% increase is 8.00 x 1000  =  8000, for a total of 9000 visitors.

In what year were there 9000 visitors?

in 2003:  1000.

A 150% increase is 1.50 x 1000  =  1500, for a total of 2500 visitors.

So, in 2005, there were 2500 visitors.

A 150% increase is 1.50 x 2500  =  3750, for a total of 6250 visitors.

So, in 2007, there were 6250 visitors.

A 150% increase is 1.50 x 6250  =  9375, for a total of 15625 visitors.

So, in 2009, there were 15625 visitors.

Probabily, sometime in 2008, there were 9000 visitors.
