Solve by elimination.

Bill has started a small company making organic honey. He makes large and small containers. He has found the costs of running his business to have a linear relationship which can be 5.5x + 7.5y = 930. He wants to sell a small container for 12 dollars and a larger container for 15 dollars and earn 1,920 dollars. That creates a linear relationship modeled by 12x + 15y = 1,920. How many of each size of organic honey should he sell to fulfill his revenue and cost projections? (Hint: 7.5* -2 = -15)

a) 80 small, 60 large

b) 40 small, 100 large

c) 70 small, 70 large

d) 60 small, 80 large

Solve for x and y

Multiply first eqaution by - 2 to get

-11x -15y = -1860      add to second equation to get

x = 60    which is the number of smaller containers         only answer  that matches this is D
