A 6'' by 6'' grid made from 1'' pieces of wire glued together at their ends is shown here. How many pieces of wire would be required to create a similar 10'' by 10'' grid?

Horizontally, there are 10*10 pieces of wire.

Vertically, there are also 10*10 pieces of wire.

In all, it'll take 100 + 100 = 200 pieces of wire.

Oh, sorry!

There are 10*11 horizontal wires and 10*11 vertical wires.

So 110 + 110 = 220 wires in all.
