One of the track and field events is the triple jump. In this event, the

athlete takes a running start band makes three jumps without stopping. Find

the total length of 3 jumps for an athlete who jumped \( {64 \over 3}{}{}\)feet on the first

one, \(17{2 \over 3}{}{}\)feet on the second jump and \(18 {1 \over 5}{}{}\)feet on the last jump.

We can add the 3 numbers together:

$\frac{64}3+17\frac23+18\frac15=$

$21\frac13+17\frac23+18\frac15=$

$39+18\frac15=\boxed{57\frac15}$
