can someone help with this

( y=3.5x-2.8

( y=-4.67x+12.5

what is the value of x in the solution of the following system?

Solve for x:
3.5 x - 2.8 = 12.5 - 4.67 x

Add 4.67 x to both sides:
4.67 x + 3.5 x - 2.8 = (4.67 x - 4.67 x) + 12.5

4.67 x - 4.67 x = 0:
4.67 x + 3.5 x - 2.8 = 12.5

3.5 x + 4.67 x = 8.17 x:
8.17 x - 2.8 = 12.5

Add 2.8 to both sides:
8.17 x + (-2.8 + 2.8) = 12.5 + 2.8

2.8 - 2.8 = 0:
8.17 x = 12.5 + 2.8

12.5 + 2.8 = 15.3:
8.17 x = 15.3

Divide both sides of 8.17 x = 15.3 by 8.17:
(8.17 x)/8.17 = 15.3/8.17

8.17/8.17 = 1:
x = 15.3/8.17

15.3/8.17 = 1.87271:
Answer: |x = 1.87271

Another (fun) approach to see what happens with both equations and where they intersect:

Copy this line

y=3.5x-2.8, y=-4.67x+12.5

to clipboard and then paste the line in Google search field and hit [Enter]

for a graphical approach.

Both lines intersect at x=1.87270498 where y=3.75446743 (zoom way in on the intersection)
