Did you look it up in your History Textbook?. Hint: Look in the "Index" under "The War of 1812" and I guarantee you that you will see it somewhere in your Textbook!

I am late but here is what I found:

The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States and the United Kingdom, with their respective allies, from June 1812 to February 1815. Historians in Britain often see it as a minor theatre of the Napoleonic Wars, while historians in the United States and Canada see it as a war in its own right.

The War of 1812 came to an end largely because the British public had grown tired of the sacrifice and expense of their twenty-year war against France. Now that Napoleon was all but finally defeated, the minor war against the United States in North America lost popular support.

War of 1812, (June 18, 1812–February 17, 1815), conflict fought between the United States and Great Britain over British violations of U.S. maritime rights. It ended with the exchange of ratifications of the Treaty of Ghent. Skirmishes with Native Americans and British soldiers on the northwestern border of the U.S.

Many Federalists believed that the War of 1812 was fought to help Napoleon in his struggle against Britain, and they opposed the war by refusing to pay taxes, boycotting war loans, and refusing to furnish troops.

The War of 1812 is often called “the forgotten war” because it isn't studied much in school. But the War of 1812 played a big role in helping the United States grow up and become more than just a collection of states.

In the War of 1812, the United States took on the greatest naval power in the world, Great Britain, in a conflict that would have an immense impact on the young country's future. ... The ratification of the Treaty of Ghent on February 17, 1815, ended the war but left many of the most contentious questions unresolved.

So that is what I got. Also, Guest's suggestion would help. Like, I didn't get everything in so... yeah! Sorry if any information is wrong. Hope this helped!
