1) We need this formula
Old point ' = ( Old point - Dilation center )*Scale Factor + Dilation center
Also note that (a,b) + (c, d) = ( a + c , b + d)
And (a, b) * c = (c*a, c*b)
So....to find the post-image of A
A' = ( A - Dilation Center)*Scale Factor + Dilation Center
A' = [ (-4, 4) - (-1, 1) ] * (1/3) + (-1/1)
A' = [ -3, 3] *(1/3) + (-1, 1)
A' = [ -1, 1] + (-1, 1) = (-2, 2)
Can you find the other two points using this formula to B and C ???...if not, let me know
The second problem is similar...just apply the formula to each point and graph the results
(3) 10 * (2/3) = 20/3 = AB '
(4) 13 * (3/2) = 39/2 = CD '
