Jasmine had a box of red and white beads. 3/4 of the total number of beads were red. Jasmine used 5/9 of the number of red beads and some white beads to make a necklace. She used 1/2 of the total number of beads to make the necklace. Wat fraction of the number of white beads did she use to make the necklace?

R = 3/4        W = 1/4

3/4(5/9) = 5/12    (Red beads)

1/2 - 5/12 = 1/12    (White beads)

5/12 - 1/12 = 4/12 = 1/3

1/3 of the fraction of the white beads

Your answer is correct!!!        1/3(1/4) = 1/12

I should have divided 1/12 by 1/4               (1/12) / 1/4 = 1/3

Total = 12x

Ted = 9x

White = 3x

Total used = 6x (1/2 of total)

Red used = 5x,

Therefore, white used = 1x

Fraction of white

= used white / Total white

= 1/3
