This target has five colors and each color is divided into two parts for scoring zones.

All 9 rings have the same width as the radius of the innermost circle.

What is the ratio of the white area to the yellow area?

If  we let 1  be  the  radius of the  inner yellow circle,  then  the  yellow area  =  pi (2*1)^2 =  4 pi

The  colored area  has  a radius  of  8

Its  area  is  pi (8)^2 =    64  pi

The    outermost  cirlcle  has a  radius  of 10.....the whole  figure has  an area of (10)^2 pi  = 100 pi

So....the  outermost  white  area =   (100  -64) pi =  36pi

So  the ratio of the white area to  the yellow area =   36pi/4pi    =   9 : 1

Just as Elijah found   !!!!

Good  job, Elijah   !!!!
