The grid lines in the graph below are one unit apart. What is the equation of the circle plotted in the graph in standard form?

The center of the circle is at (2, -4) and the radius of the circle is 4. We can write the equation like this and simplify.

\((x-2)^2 + (y+4)^2 = 16\)

\((x^2 - 4x + 4) + (y^2 + 8y + 16) = 16\)

\(x^2 - 4x + y^2 + 8y + 4 = 0\)

its actually (x-2)^2+(y+3)^2=16 ... the center of the circle is at (2,-3)
