Suppose f(z) and g(z) are polynomials in z, and the degree of g(z) is less than the degree of f(z). If the degree of f(z) is two, what is the degree of f(z)+g(z)?

Hint: f(z)=z2+13z+7. The degree of f(z) is 2.

g(z)=z+3. the degree of g(z) is 1 (The degree of g(z) is less than the degree of f(z))

g(z)+f(z) = (z+3)+(z2+13z+7) = z2+14z+10

what is the degree of g(z)+f(z)?
