let P(x)= 8x^4- 2kx^3 + 2k^x^2 + k/2, where k is a complex number. find all values of k such tat the remainder of P(x) divided by 2x - 1 is 15/32 + (1/32)i 

 

please help!!!!

I have not checked my answer and there is a lot of room for careless error but this is what I did.

Steps.

1)   I used polynomial division to get the remainder - which I got as     (5k-2)/4

2)   then I looked at

      \(\frac{5k-2}{4}=\frac{15-i}{32}\\ ...\\ 40k=31-i\\ k=\frac{31}{40}-\frac{i}{40}\)
