Find the constant coefficient when the polynomial 3(x - 4) + 2(x^2 - x + 7) - 5(x - 1) + 8(x^2 - x + 3) - 4(x - 5) is simplified.

 

Look at each bracket separately, find the constants, then add them together.

 

3(x-4)  constant will be 3 * -4=-12

 

+ 2(x^2 - x + 7) constant will be  +2 * +7 = +14

 

- 5(x - 1)  constant will be  -5 * -1 = +5

 

etc
