if (0.125)^3 can be written as 2^a. Find the value of a?

Thank you!

If you are able to explain that would be most appreciated!!

Note that  ( .125)   =    125/1000  =   [25 * 5] / [ 200 * 5 ]  =  25 / 200   =   1 / 8

So  we have  (1/8)^3  = ( 1/2^3)^3  = 1/2^9

1 / 2^9      =    [ remember that   1/ b^n  =  b^(-n)  ]....so.....

1/2^9  =   2^(-9)

So  "a"  = -9
